  • Locomotive form flattened, elongate, ovoid or spatulate. It may have rather regular outlines in locomotion or to be nearly irregular in non-directed movement. No differentiated uroid. Sometimes short lateral ridges appear. Length in locomotion 19-37 mkm, breadth 5-8 mkm, L/B 3.5-4.2.
  • Floating form radial, usualy assimetrical, with several conical tapering hyaline pseudopodia.
  • Single rounded vesicular nucleus, about 3.5 mkm in diameter, with a spherical central endosome about 1.9 mkm in diameter. In locomotive form the nucleus is always situated at the border between the granuloplasm and the hyaloplasm. One contractile vacuole. No cytoplasmic cristals.
  • Cysts spherical, 7-10 mkm in diameter, single-walled. No cyst pores found.
  • Cell coat consists of amorphous glycocalix, 10-15 nm in thickness. Mitochondria have dense matrix and tubular non-anastomosing cristae. Cyst wall consists of a fine fibrilar material.
